| Dr. Brian D. Barnett was raised in the Northeast. For his undergraduate schooling, he attended New York University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in psychology. Subsequently, he received his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School. Thereafter, Dr. Barnett completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) in Baltimore. After residency, Dr. Barnett completed a three-year fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, often considered to be one the premier infertility training programs in the world. Prior to moving to Plano in 1997 and entering private practice, Dr. Barnett was on faculty at Duke University Medical Center and was instrumental in the success of its in vitro fertilization program. Prior to opening of the Frisco Fertility Center, Dr. Barnett enjoyed more than a decade of success as a member of the Presbyterian Hospital ARTS Program. Having performed over 2,000 egg retrievals and 2,000 laparoscopy/hysteroscopy surgical procedures in his career, Dr. Barnett has established himself as one of the leading Reproductive Endocrinologist in the Southwest United States. Dr. Barnett has been on the forefront of assisted reproductive technology in the region. Among his many contributions, Dr. Barnett was the first physician to perform a successful donor egg cycle in the Presbyterian Hospital ARTS program, the first physician to have a successful gestational carrier cycle in the Presbyterian Hospital ARTS program and the first physician to have a successful PGD pregnancy not only in the Presbyterian Hospital ARTS program, but in all of Dallas and Collin County. Among his many awards over the years, Dr. Barnett has been repeatedly named as a “Top Doc” in Texas Monthly. In1995, Child Magazine named The Presbyterian Hospital ART Program as one of the 10 best in the nation, in large part due to Dr. Barnett’s exceptionally high pregnancy rates, which have always exceeded the groups overall rates. Board Certified in both obstetrics and gynecology and in the subspecialty of reproductive endocrinology and infertility, Dr. Barnett takes great pride in the individualized approach he has to patient management and the extremely high IVF pregnancy rates he has achieved over the years. Dr. Barnett also remains active in clinical research. He lives in Plano with his wife of 17 years and his three daughters. |
